The Tateyama Kurobe also called 「The Japanese Alps」or 「The rooftops of Japan」is a mountain range that stretches across Toyama and Nagano prefecture that contains Tateyama,
one of the snowiest places in the world. It receives an average 7m of snow that can sometimes reach 20m, about the height of a 10 story building.
Around April and May, the Yuki no Otani forms in the 2400 regions around Tateyama.
The 「Gorge of snow」is the result from accumulated shoveling of snow, creating a view being just sky and snow.
The experience leaves a lasting imprint in the minds of the visitors and can only be experienced first hand.
